Summer Lawns

I downloaded a few tracks from the debut album by Summer Lawns a New York band. The album is called “First We Waited…And The We Started”. One of the tracks I heard, How To Furnish Life In The Desert, is really good – a quiet but intensely atmospheric piece. They also do a very slow version of Transmission (yes, that song!). I know it’s heresy but I actually enjoyed hearing such a feat attempted. It certainly makes you think about the song again and hear elements you haven’t really heard before – even if the version isn’t 100% successful.
