David Smith

Fastest Machine Sep 2004

Kinda quiet and kinda beautiful. David Smith has a strong voice with real character (qualities of Al Stewart maybe). Musically there are acoustic and electric guitars, drums and even some surprising electronics to create some extra atmosphere. This is a singer/songwriters album - played and sung with tenderness and care and skill. Some great tracks such as Hopelessly Misunderstood and Losing Ground crystalise the melancholic and melodious feel of this album. It works well as a complete album, pulling you into it's gentle and tender embrace.
