Neenor

The Good Old Days / My Corporation Jan 2003

There is definitely something going on in Brighton. Following on the heels of the wondeful Things In Herds and Frock, comes this delicious slice of Indie-pop from Brighton-based Neenor (originally from North Yorkshire). The Good Old Days is a song about nostalgia beautifully performed with delicate musicianship. My Corporation took a bit longer to grab me but has become my preferred track with its playful lyrics.

A sense of fun and a hint of decadence pervades this EP. It's firmly in the English Indie tradition of clever lyrics, slightly mannered vocals, and oodles of charm. Nothing revolutionary, but finely crafted songs in a similar vein to The Divine Comedy.
