The Tides are a support band currently, known for supporting the
incomparable Puressence, and more recently Kasabian and The
Bluetones. Liam Pennington's vocals are in a similar high range
to the Puressence vocals and there's a vibrato in his voice to
challenge The Veils. Sumptious songs and luxurious harmonies with
jangly guitar music to make your heart go ping.
They play emotional pop/rock and understand how to evoke feeling
with every note and texture of the music. There is a harder edge
that breaks through with some of the guitar work such as on the
track One Amongst Equals. Youll Never Change is a mighty
six minute song that maintains a longer crescendo of emotion than
I can remember hearing before. They are a band who have real promise.
